Thermopolis, July 12

This morning we soaked in the bath house at 104 degrees, they cooled it down to this temperature from 127 degrees!!! 20 minutes is all what is allowed in one sitting and all we could take. This water contains lots of minerals but also quite a bit of sulfur. Not the best of smells, but it was bearable and the water felt as healing as it is supposed to be. I am waiting for skin of a 20year old one or I will have to repeat this tonight.
We also took a tour through the park, where bisons' roam with their families. I got out once to make a picture when Mom bison took a liking to me and chased me back to the truck.
Once again the views were spectacular. Thermopolis is a small but quite lovely town. We enjoy our stay but will backtrack our tour through the mountains and then proceed towards Jackson Hole tomorrow.

Heute morgen haben wir im Badehaus zwanzig Minuten im Mineralbrunnen von 40 Grad C gesessen. Der Brunnen wurde gekuehlt zu dieser Temperatur und man darf nur 20 Minuten lang per Stunde im Wasser bleiben. Das war auch genug fuer uns. Das Wasser enthaellt viele gute Mineralien, aber auch Schwefel, was nicht immer sehr gut riecht. Es war trotzdem herrlich und soll gesundheitliche Kraefte haben. Ich warte auf eine Erneuerung meiner Haut und hoffe, wieder wie 20 auszusehen oder ich muss heute abend nochmals in die Quelle.
Nach unserem Bad fuhren wir im Nationalpark herum, in dem viele Bisons mit Familien leben. Ich bin ausgestiegen, um Fotos vom Nachwuchs zu machen und wurde sofort von Mamma Bison beauegt und wieder ins Auto gescheucht.
Die kleine Stadt Thermopolis is wirklich nett und die Aussicht in alle Richtungen ist traumhaft. Dennoch werden wir morgen wieder durch die Berge fahren und uns in Richtung Jackson Hole begeben. Bis dann!
