The Badland National Park covers an area of 244,000 acres and is the strangest and most spectacular landscape in North America. I can vouch for that!
French trappers called the area ‘les mauvaises terres a traverser’ (bad lands to travel across).
This area used to be under water, millions and millions of years ago and should be on the bucket list of anybody who loves to travel and see new sites.
Europe has so many beautiful and unforgettable areas to offer, but what always amazes me is the size of everything here in the USA. The Badlands could swallow a few European countries without having even one person in it. That is what messes with my head all the time!

Der Badland Nationalpark hat eine Groesse von 244,000 acres und ist das ungewoehnlichste und wohl most faszinierende Gebiet in Nord Amerika.
Franzoesische Pelztrapper nannten die Gegend ‘les mauvaises terres a traverser’ (schlechtes Land zum Durchqueren = Badlands).
Dieses Gebiet war total unter Wasser vor Millionen von Jahren, was diese Formationen hinterlassen hat.
Es ist bestimmt einer der Gegenden, die ich nie vergessen werde!
Europa hat so viele unvergessliche Gegenden, doch waa mich immer wieder erstaunt hier in den Staaten sind die Groessenausmasse. Die Badlands koennten einige europaeische Staaten schlucken, ohne jegliche Bewohner. Diese Weiten erstaunen mich immer wieder aufs Neue und erinnern mich gleichzeitig an meine Zeit in Suedafrika.
